Garage door repair in Larkspur and Greenbrae

Larkspur and Greenbrae are two halves of one corridor for us. Nearly seven in ten homes in the Greenbrae and Kentfield ZIP date from 1950 to 1979, postwar hillside streets where most households own, and that's where the door work in this corridor sits. Larkspur proper is a lovely old town with a downtown on the National Register, though much of its housing is apartments and condos, so its single-family doors are in the detached pockets.

Housing and vehicle figures are American Community Survey 2024 five-year estimates. The Census counts vehicles, not garages.

The housing, and what it means for doors

Greenbrae's ranch homes climb the hill above Bon Air, built in the postwar push, with Kentfield's older streets beyond. Downtown Larkspur's historic blocks along Magnolia, mostly 1900 to 1930, carry period cottages and storefront flats. Baltimore Canyon behind town was logged in the Gold Rush years, and the streets under the second-growth redwoods hold some of the oldest small homes in the corridor.

Getting to Larkspur

Bon Air is barely two miles from our base, about seven minutes clear, and downtown Larkspur is under ten. Shape matters more than distance here. Larkspur and Ross sit up their own drainage, so you come in from one end rather than cutting across.

Worth knowing locally

MarinHealth Medical Center on Bon Air Road has anchored Greenbrae since 1952, and the ferry terminal at Larkspur Landing has run boats to San Francisco since December 1976. Between them, this corridor is where central Marin goes about its day.

What we expect to find

Kentfield sits in the wettest measured spot in our whole service area, at over 44 inches of rain a year, and Greenbrae shares the weather. That's nearly triple the East Bay average, landing on doors that are already sixty years old. Bottom panels, track feet and cables rust here faster than anywhere else we work, and a yearly look at the lowest foot of the door pays for itself.
